Yea, a railing! We love the simplicity of this design. It's very fitting to the age of our house.
When our landscape architect suggested the Arborvitae hedge in back, we weren't sure whether we would like it. It turned out great. From ground level, it already blocks the view quite well. The new tree is an Amur Maple.
