The line to get off the bridge was even longer than the one to get on. We ended up waiting close to an hour to catch the shuttle back. The road was closed anyway, so I'm not sure why they didn't just open the old approach to pedestrians. Also a nice view of the new west approach under construction.

When we got back to the UW, there was still a huge line waiting for shuttle busses TO the bridge. It was only a few minutes after I took this photo that WSDOT announced they were shutting down the shuttle to the bridge due to overcrowding. Lots soon-to-be-disappointed people here.
