Most of the weight of the bridge is supported by the large longitudinal pontoons under the roadway. These smaller supplemental pontoons are attached to the side and help stabilize the weight of the bridge.
When we turned around at the far end of the bridge and started to make our way back, we were shocked at how crowded the bridge had become.
