A Great Day for a Museum
Main Hall
The main hall of the old Armory is impressive, but gives the unfortunate impression that the museum is mostly empty. The big tower is a sculpture by John Grade made of wood salvaged from the schooner Wawona (which lends its name to the sculpture, as well).

Wawona Entrance
Wawona extends above the roof and below the floor. You can go inside and see the sky above and the water of Lake Union below.

Boeing B-1
Bill Boeing's first commercial plane, the B-1. The big "R" is from the old Rainier Brewery.
Lightship Swiftsure
Lake Union is right out the window.
Exhibits
The main atrium is ringed by exhibits.

Kimono
Presented to the City of Seattle by one of its sister cities.
Pods
In addition to the main exhibit areas around the edges, these round "pods" in the main hall contain other exhibits. Many of the more interactive, kid-friendly exhibits were in the pods.

MOHAI
They really did a beautiful job restoring the building inside and out.
