My advice to Munich toursits is to skip the crowds at the Hofbräuhaus and come across the street to Ayingers. The food, beer, and ambiance all handily beat HB.
Right in the middle (to the left of Hofbräuhaus) is a South Tyrolean restaurant. We didn't realize it was there until we came out of Ayingers. We'd be eating South Tyrolean food in South Tyrol soon enough, anyway.
It rained while we were in Munich, but never enough to put a kink in our plans.
