We'd read about this wonderful out-of-the-way restaurant on a side street in Cortina. It's just a short walk from our hotel, so he headed there for dinner. They're normally open on Mondays, but they were closed this one for some reason (there was a note on the door, but we couldn't decipher the handwriting, let alone the Italian).
With our first choice closed, we found ourselves back in the center of Cortina at Cinque Torri. There was a wait, but it was well worth it. Like many places in this part of Italy, the food was an interesting mix of Italian and Austrian influences. I had knödel soup and schnitzel (with a weizenbier), Henry had spaghetti, and Kathy and Charlie had some excellent pizza. (Pizza topped with speck!)
