This time, it was Kathy's turn to go on a secret mission with Henry. The goal was nearly the same, though: Italian cards for Magic The Gathering.
This whole lock thing has gone too far. Seriously.
There's a reason this monument has a fence around it. It was erected by order of Mussolini after South Tyrol was annexed at the end of World War I and has rankled South Tyrol's German-speaking majority ever since. During its dedication in 1928, 10,000 people demonstrated against it across the border in Innsbruck. Today, German is the first language of over 60% of South Tyroleans, but thanks in part to Mussolini's "Italianization" program, that figure is only 25% for the City of Bolzano.
